Color Reflections is known for bringing large color prints to life. So it’s fitting that our Philly location chose a colorful landmark for their building’s new exterior mural. Replacing the previous mural of a Philadelphia street scene, the new, nearly life-size mural showcases a vibrant row of buildings that once stood on Spring Garden Street in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia.
Built in 1906, these buildings became a defining feature of the neighborhood in the late 20th century with the opening of the iconic and controversial Finnegan’s Wake Irish Pub. The facade of the original buildings was transformed into an Irish street scene, with multiple shades of green, blue, and red, and featured a distinctive mural by Paul Santoleri called “In the Shadow of the Wood” and the pub’s logo.
Printing and Installing A Building-Sized Mural
When considering a new exterior mural, our Philly team decided to replicate these historical buildings from Darren LoPrinzi’s original photography taken years before the buildings on Spring Garden were torn down and replaced with Gopuff’s headquarters.
The photo was digitally enhanced and printed on durable, weather-resistant vinyl. Thanks to our cutting-edge wide-format printers, every vibrant detail was captured to faithfully reproduce the original scene.
The custom mural was professionally installed by Color Reflections on the exterior of the building. The final result is a striking, life-sized depiction of this beloved landmark, preserved in a lasting, high-impact visual.
