When it comes to ground graphics, durability is key! Especially in high-traffic areas like the New York subway system.
Color Reflections recently printed and shipped more than a dozen wayfinding ground graphics for New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). The MTA helps a population of 15.3 million (plus visitors!) navigate the tangled web of subway travel across 5,000 square miles of transit systems.
It’s critical that informational and safety ground graphics can take a beating, without requiring reprinting and reinstallation. So our team knew we needed the best of the best industrial graphics.
To help achieve this goal, Color Reflections used materials from Jessup Manufacturing, a global manufacturer specializing in adhesive coated and laminated materials and photoluminescent films and sheets for the most demanding of environments. Our experts decided to use ARMORLam® 15, a 15 mil thick, ultra-clear, PVC free polyester product that offers essential safety, durability, and UV protection and Smooth-N-Groove, a white foil media with permanent adhesive and conforms to rough surfaces and is easy to install.
Together, we were able to print and ship superior and durable informational wayfinding ground graphics for the MTA, including ground graphics for subway hubs at Times Square and Grand Central Station.
